Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Braydon Fisher was placed on bereavement leave Wednesday, granting him time to grieve after his father, Don Fisher, went down without warning while traveling to watch the game.
The tragically death occurred during the intense Jays' series against the Nationals.
The club quickly announced the leave right away.
Fisher issued a succinct statement saying his dad was an “amazing” man and that he is determined on his family.
He thanked fans for encouragement and added he will rejoin to the roster when ready.
