Anthony Mackie will transfer his West End production of Macbeth to Broadway, marking a return to theatre after a long absence. He will play the title role, with the run scheduled to continue until July 2027.
The production started on the West End stage before the Broadway transfer was confirmed by entertainment outlets. The move represents a big shift for a performer better known recently for his screen work.
After his Broadway engagement ends, Mackie has confirmed he will film Avengers: Secret Wars, placing the superhero film in after his stage work finishes.
