My wife encountered a dead battery in her 99 Benz E320 because the lights were left on. After jump-starting the car, we got it running again, but now the power windows are acting strangely. They go down without any problem, but getting them back up is a struggle. I have to press the up button multiple times for each window to close.
Thinking it might be related to a weak battery even after the jump start, I put the 99 E320 on a charger overnight. Unfortunately, this morning the window issue persists. I searched online forums for a solution, and I found a window reset procedure on another website. It involved holding the power window “up switch” for a few seconds after closing each window, along with some seat and sunroof reset steps. However, I tried following these instructions, and it didn’t fix the problem with the 99 Benz E320 windows.
Could anyone provide the correct power window reset procedure for a 1999 Mercedes-Benz E320? Or perhaps there’s another reason why the windows are behaving this way after the jump start? Any insight or guidance on resolving this 99 benz e320 window issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!
