Antonio Ginestri, widely recognized online as “Squeeze Benz” for his audacious driving videos, finds himself in legal trouble once again. This time, the charges are not related to his notorious car stunts, but stem from alleged involvement in a series of ATM and high-end handbag thefts. Law enforcement officials have identified a stolen BMW X7, reportedly driven by Ginestri, as having been used in connection with some of these heists.
For months, Squeeze Benz had become a figure of notoriety, seemingly taunting authorities across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut with his reckless driving escapades. In May, the NYPD and New Jersey Public Safety Commission publicly identified 19-year-old Antonio Ginestri as the individual behind the “Squeeze Benz” persona. Now, just a short time later, Ginestri is facing a second arrest, this time for a completely separate set of crimes. These new allegations involve the theft of approximately $38,000 worth of designer handbags, in addition to ATM machines.
Ginestri initially gained notoriety by posting videos of himself engaging in dangerous driving maneuvers and brazenly evading police, often after car crashes. His online persona, “Squeeze Benz,” became synonymous with reckless behavior and a disregard for the law.
Prior to this latest arrest, Squeeze Benz had already been apprehended in connection to his driving antics. Following that initial arrest, the frequency of posts and videos associated with the Squeeze Benz accounts noticeably decreased.
However, this recent arrest pertains to criminal activities that reportedly occurred before Ginestri was initially caught for his reckless driving. According to NJ.com, Ginestri was arrested on May 16th, several days before authorities connected him to the Squeeze Benz online accounts.
Court documents related to the May 16th arrest indicate that police allege Ginestri stole $38,950 worth of designer handbags while driving a stolen BMW X7. Investigators also suspect Ginestri’s involvement in robberies dating back to January 25th and 26th. Furthermore, he is considered a primary suspect in ATM thefts that took place on February 6th and February 9th. A 16-year-old was also arrested as an alleged accomplice in these crimes.
The young man who allegedly treated public roads as his personal racetrack now faces serious adult charges. These include employing a juvenile in the commission of a crime, theft by unlawful taking, and conspiracy. Currently, bail has been revoked in his case, and a new court date is pending. If Antonio Ginestri is indeed Squeeze Benz, as the evidence strongly suggests, it is unlikely we will see any new videos from his account in the near future.
