Virgin Media O2 this week will phase out its 2G network soon. The company’s chief technology officer, Jeanie York, made the statement.
The shutdown will touch older devices such as certain smart meters and similar devices and medical equipment. Virgin Media O2 states that ending 2G will clear space for faster 5G upgrades aimed at boosting mobile services nationwide.
