The eastbound lanes of the eastbound side on the Tacoma Narrows span were shut late Saturday night. Vehicles came to a halt after an alert went out. Police directed drivers on both sides of the bridge. Crews started checking the structure right away. Authorities have not said why they closed it yet. Work crews have not said when the lanes will reopen.
