A 22-year-old passenger died on Loop 1604 in San Antonio after a driver accused of DWI struck a pillar. San Antonio police responded to the North Side collision and found the driver intoxicated at the scene.

In a separate incident, an employee at a BBQ restaurant was attacked with a knife in the arm and chest in what police called a random attack just outside the business. The employee is recovering after the assault.
