US Supreme Court Refuses Roy Moore Defamation Case Appeal

The US Supreme Court has refused to hear Roy Moore's appeal to restore an $8.2 million defamation verdict in his favour. The court rejected the bid on 5 October 2026, ending Moore's effort to reinstate the jury's original ruling.

The dispute stems from a campaign advertisement. Moore had maintained the verdict should stand in his favour, but the Supreme Court's rejection leaves the earlier ruling in place against him.
