President Vladimir Putin has increased tensions with NATO by issuing severe threats, including nuclear weapons, following incidents in Kaliningrad. NATO has stated there is no immediate threat to its territory but remains prepared for hostile actions by Russia. Putin has also emphasized strong ties with China, while Poland has criticized former President Donald Trump's decision to invite Putin to the G20 summit. Putin's actions have been compared to those of Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev, and his communications have been analyzed for signs of unease.
