Production on The Batman Part II has been stopped after director Matt Reeves took leave for a family matter. Variety Australia, The Hollywood Reporter, and Deadline all covered the stoppage on 5 October 2026.
The stoppage adds to delay concerns already hanging over the sequel. Cast member Sebastian Stan, who recently opened up about how playing Donald Trump earned him a role in the film, had been on set before the pause. No timeline for a return to filming has been reported.
