Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and sailors serving aboard the USS Tripoli returned to the United States on Wednesday. They finished tours assigned to the 5th and 7th Fleets. In parallel, several Marines and sailors stationed in Okinawa arrived back in Japan after missions connected with the Iran situation. The Tripoli moored at its home port in Okinawa, closing out its deployment. The U.S. Marines and the Royal Australian Air Force finished joint drills at Dyess under the Trident Fury program this week. In Vancouver, the police marine unit recovered a newborn seal pup that was left on its own.
