The Minnesota Lynx beat the Golden State Valkyries twice in late August. Minnesota won 77-66 on Aug. 19. The teams faced off again Aug. 24 at Target Center. Minnesota maintained the top seed. They were undefeated against Golden State yet. Courtney Williams missed the game. Her right foot was injured. Without Williams in action, Minnesota could not clinch the top seed in that contest.
