Dame Judi Dench has publicly criticized Petco for alleged animal mistreatment. The actor, known for her fondness for parrots, accused the retailer of sourcing birds from breeders who kept them in small and dirty enclosures. Dench called for an end to the sale of birds at Petco, citing PETA's exposure of animal cruelty in breeding facilities. The criticism comes as Dench has been vocal about her fondness for parrots and the ethical treatment of animals.
