Nobel Peace Prize laureate Navi Pillay has labelled US sanctions on the International Criminal Court "unacceptable," joining growing international criticism of the measures. Ukraine has also expressed support for the court following the US action.

In Canada, jurists are pressing the government to intervene as the Trump administration works to undermine the ICC. Japan's Motegi separately brought up the matter of the court with US Secretary of State Rubio, pointing to wider diplomatic concern over Washington's moves to weaken the tribunal.
