An amateur skygazer using Google Maps located a big rounded depression in northern Quebec. Experts at Quebec’s geological survey authenticated it is a massive meteorite impact crater formed around 390 million years near Lake Mistassini. The scar on the landscape resembles other confirmed craters and indicates a major ancient collision. Satellite images were it thoroughly cross-referenced field data to substantiate the discovery.
