Nine crew members from China were arrested over illegal fishing in waters near Yeonpyeong Island.

Maritime patrol teams were given formal recognition for their work. They had chased off illegal Chinese crab boats nearby.

On a separate matter, a prawn fisher from West Vancouver was fined $5,000. The fine was imposed because he dropped traps near glass sponge reefs.

Regulators confirmed there will be no fishing for coho salmon in Lake Washington. The restriction covers anglers there.
