Ed Husic, the Australian Minister for Industry and Science, criticised Labour’s internal culture after his plan to permit a discussion on recognising Gaza did not pass.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said described his statement at a gathering as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unperturbed by criticism, declaring reporters: "put me in a cold chamber, I couldn't care less."
The dispute followed failed attempts to push the party to officially acknowledge events in Gaza as genocide.
Party documents and internal files were later filed that revealed serious rifts within Labour’s ranks over policy and leadership.
