Latest News About Qantas to repay customers, Virgin retains unused credits

Qantas has dispatched letters or emails to customers to about one million Australian customers.

The communication details a $105 million settlement for flights that were cancelled during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The airline reports the payout will be distributed to eligible passengers who booked in 2020 and will be handled over the next few weeks in the near term.

On that day, Virgin Australia disclosed it still holds $93 million in unused flight credits still dormant.

That total was disclosed as the airline’s chief executive received a salary increase this year.

Virgin has not yet announce any plan to release the credits so far.
