Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot started at right‑back in the starting eleven.
Dalot was in the lineup.
He played alongside his long‑time idol Cristiano Ronaldo.
Together they kept a clean sheet and handed Portugal three points.
Dalot’s father told reporters his son has idolised Ronaldo since childhood and that the two now enjoy a real friendship.
He said the admiration has propelled Dalot’s career and that playing together at a World Cup is a wish fulfilled.
