The BC NDP leader is justifying his use of the childcare subsidy scheme. Opponents say that his family exceeds the income limit for the subsidy. The leader explains that his wife stayed time off without pay for cancer treatment. This allowed them to qualify for the financial assistance. He claims his family donated the money back to the system. They wanted to help others. While visiting an area in North Delta, he promised a new urgent care centre. He also wants a new BC shipyard. He contrasted his vision to the Conservative candidate who wants tax cuts.
