Daniel Tupou has stepped away from the game just days after the Sydney Roosters claimed the grand final. The winger leaves the sport as a four-time premiership winner, all earned with the Roosters, having never suited up for a rival team.

The Roosters admitted to being "lost for words" at his departure. Tupou's whole playing life was spent in red, white and blue, cementing his place as one of the most dedicated one-club men in the competition's recent history.
