Members of Parliament have suggested replacing the BBC's funding model. They suggest lowering costs and broadening financial support to include areas outside of television. MPs also propose abolishing the BBC's charter renewal and stopping the broadcaster from undercutting commercial rivals for overseas shows. The proposals aim to resolve the BBC's financial challenges as it faces a important juncture. The recommendations come amid persistent talks about the broadcaster's long-term strategy.
