Mercedes Sanctuary 4×4: Your Luxurious Off-Grid Adventure Van

Thor Motorcoach presents the Sanctuary, a camper van built on the robust Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 4×4 chassis, designed to bring all the comforts of home to your wilderness explorations. Marketed as an ideal option for newcomers to the RV lifestyle or those seeking a more compact recreational vehicle, the Sanctuary aims to redefine mobile living.

The Sanctuary is offered in two distinct floor plans to cater to different needs. The 19P model, priced at $148,680, features a rear bench that conveniently converts into a bed. Alternatively, the 19L layout, with a slightly higher MSRP of $151,060, provides a permanently fixed bed at the rear and repositions the seating area to the van’s center.

Both Sanctuary configurations boast a well-equipped kitchenette, including a practical refrigerator, a dual-burner gas cooktop, a convection microwave oven, and a stainless steel sink. Each model also incorporates a wet bath, complete with a cassette toilet, sink, shower, and a Truma Combi water heating system, ensuring hot water and climate control on your journeys. A 72-liter freshwater tank provides ample water supply for extended trips.

Externally, the van is enhanced with a standard Thule power patio awning featuring integrated LED lighting, perfect for creating an outdoor living space. A Thule bike rack mounted on the rear door allows for easy transport of bicycles, and a ladder provides access to the roof rack, expanding storage and adventure gear capacity.

For onboard entertainment and connectivity, the Sanctuary is equipped with the Winegard Connect 2.0 system, integrating a WiFi extender, 4G hotspot, and a TV antenna. Additional amenities include a 24-inch television, a portable JBL Flip speaker, and seamless smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The interior cabin is designed to be bright and welcoming, featuring abundant lighting and large windows to maximize natural light and views.

Powering your off-grid adventures, the Sanctuary includes a 190-watt solar panel mounted on the roof. Standard power features consist of an Onan RV QG 2500 LP generator and a 1,000-watt inverter. For those seeking enhanced power capabilities, an optional upgrade is available, featuring a substantial 400 amp-hour lithium battery, a more powerful 3,000-watt inverter, and a 170-amp alternator, ensuring you are well-equipped for extended off-grid stays.
