Significantly, the plant aims to source 100% of its energy needs from renewable sources, employing a combination of photovoltaics, wind power, air heat pumps, geothermal, solar thermal energy, and biogas as a backup for peak demand.

The Düsseldorf plant in Germany will continue to produce the eSprinter and ICE-powered Sprinter vans, and will also manufacture the large cab chassis based on the VAN.EA platform. Ludwigsfelde, another German plant, will maintain Sprinter and eSprinter production while evolving into a competence center for eVan customization, particularly for Recreational Vehicles.
