Mercedes-Benz Expands U.S. Footprint with State-of-the-Art Jacksonville Training and Operations Hub

Mercedes-Benz USA has announced the opening of a new, advanced facility in Jacksonville, Florida, designed to streamline operations and enhance support for both customers and dealerships. This strategic move consolidates key business units into a single, cutting-edge location, underscoring Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to efficiency and excellence in the automotive industry.

The expansive 415,000 sq. ft. building, situated conveniently near Jacksonville International Airport at 13470 International Parkway, is set to become a central hub for Mercedes-Benz’s Southern regional operations. Occupancy is scheduled for July, and the facility will house four critical business units: the Sales Operations Southern Regional Office, a new Parts Distribution Center (PDC), the Quality Evaluation Center (QEC), and a state-of-the-art Learning & Performance Center (LPC), which will function as a key Mercedes Benz Training Center for the region. Approximately 160 employees will be based at this innovative and environmentally conscious facility.

Ernst Lieb, CEO of MBUSA at the time of the announcement, emphasized the significance of this development. “The new state-of-the-art facility incorporates Mercedes-Benz Autohaus design that many dealers have adopted throughout the U.S. Now we have one common look and feel for our corporate operations in the region across all our key business units,” Lieb stated. He further added, “By linking our core operations in one building, we can also create better efficiencies that will benefit our dealer network and our customers.” This integration is poised to optimize workflows and communication across various departments, ultimately leading to improved service delivery.

Southern Regional Sales Operations Strengthened

The Sales Operations Southern Region office will continue to play a pivotal role in supporting 102 Mercedes-Benz dealerships across a vast 12-state territory. This region encompasses Florida, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Texas, as well as Puerto Rico. This office is one of four regional hubs for MBUSA, with counterparts in Parsippany, NJ, Rosemont, IL, and Costa Mesa, CA, ensuring comprehensive nationwide dealer support.

Enhanced Parts Distribution for the Southeast

A significant addition to Mercedes-Benz’s Jacksonville presence is the new Parts Distribution Center (PDC). This center is strategically positioned to bolster parts supply for approximately 70 Mercedes-Benz dealers in the Southeastern United States. Holding around 15 percent of MBUSA’s total parts inventory, the PDC is projected to handle over 1.3 million order lines annually. This expansion of the parts distribution network, complementing existing PDCs in Carol Stream, IL, Fontana, CA, Fort Worth, TX, and Robbinsville, NJ, will significantly reduce lead times and enhance parts availability for dealerships in the region.

Quality Evaluation Center: Ensuring Excellence from the Ground Up

Jacksonville is now home to one of only two Mercedes-Benz Quality Evaluation Centers (QEC) outside of Germany, highlighting the strategic importance of this location for quality assurance. Staffed by over 70 specialists from diverse engineering and logistics backgrounds, the QEC in Jacksonville brings Daimler quality expertise closer to the U.S. market and dealer network. This proximity facilitates quicker evaluation of parts and faster feedback to Daimler development teams, accelerating improvements in both part quality and diagnostic tools. The QEC’s work directly contributes to enhancing “Fixed First Visit” performance, a critical metric for customer satisfaction, by refining diagnostic skills and providing dealers with superior technical information.

Premier Mercedes-Benz Training Center: Investing in Expertise

The Learning & Performance Center (LPC) in Jacksonville stands out as a premier mercedes benz training center, dedicated to advancing the skills and knowledge of both dealership personnel and MBUSA employees. This state-of-the-art facility hosts over 120 classes annually, welcoming around a thousand participants from across the Southeastern United States. The mercedes benz training center is intelligently designed to foster an optimal learning environment, featuring classrooms, workshops, a computer lab, a virtual classroom for webcasts, a comfortable student lounge, and a cafeteria, all integrated to maximize both learner benefit and operational efficiency.

This network of mercedes benz training center facilities underscores the brand’s unwavering commitment to continuous professional development and ensuring that its personnel are at the forefront of automotive expertise.

Alan McLaren, then vice president of customer services, emphasized the forward-thinking design of the new facility. “We have planned and built this new facility with cutting edge systems and design for our associates to deliver the best products and services throughout the region,” McLaren noted. “It’s unmistakably a Mercedes-Benz facility that showcases our dedication to quality and innovation in a significant way.”
